The Problem of Pollution in China

Today, there is more pollution than ever, and as a result, the state of the environment is steadily declining. For example, the poisonous gasses emitted by factories and automobiles have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe, and many people are dying of diseases. In order to live healthier lives, something must be done to stop pollution.

In the city where I live, there are issues with pollution. The most serious problem is smog. School was even closed for a whole week because of smog. At that time, I looked out the window at the dark yellow sky, and I wished that it would turn blue in the future.

As a high school student who is passionate about environmental protection, I believe that it is my duty to inform others on how to deal with smog.

First, we can replace coal with cleaner energy sources, such as natural gas and hydropower. Second, the government should improve the quality of gasoline and strictly enforce emission standards. Third, everyone should take measures to protect the environment, save electricity, and avoid setting off fireworks during the Spring festival.
Whenever we see litter on the ground, we should pick it up and throw it into a trashcan or recycling bin.

Today in China, protecting the environment is regarded as a basic national policy. In 2005, the Chinese president Mr. Xi said that lucid waters and lush mountains were invaluable assets.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that with everyone’s attention our sky can become blue again, and the world can become a better place to live.
